Saudi Arabia Intercepts Houthi Missile Threat Targeting Southern Region

Saudi Arabia announced on Monday evening that its air defenses successfully intercepted a ballistic missile threat launched by Houthi militants towards the Kingdom's southern region.

The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, confirming that the Royal Saudi Air Force engaged and neutralized the ballistic missile threat. The missiles were fired by what the coalition described as "terrorist Houthi militias."

Local sources in Yemen reported that the Houthi militia launched ballistic missiles from a location in the Sahar district of Sa'dah Governorate, with Saudi Arabia as the intended target.

This incident follows reports of a Mahan Air flight departing from Al Hudaydah airport. The aircraft had reportedly transported a Houthi delegation that had traveled to Tehran. Earlier, government forces had prevented the same aircraft from landing in Sana'a by targeting the runway of Sana'a International Airport.
